No retainer · ACMA CGMA · Annual, or whenever the company details change

Every UK limited company must file a confirmation statement at least once a year, within 14 days of the end of its review period. Miss it and Companies House can start striking the company off. Most directors file it themselves on the Companies House service until the year they forget. I check the record first (people with significant control, SIC codes, registered office, officers), file the CS01 and email you the receipt. No subscription, no upsell, no call: £149 plus the £50 Companies House fee, paid once.

Questions people ask

How quickly will my confirmation statement be filed?

Within one working day of receiving your Companies House authentication code and your confirmation that the details are right. Companies House usually accepts the filing the same day.

What if I do not have my Companies House authentication code?

You can request a replacement from Companies House, which posts it to the registered office address (allow about five working days). If you bought the company recently, the formation agent will have it. I will tell you exactly where to look.

Does the £149 include the Companies House fee?

No. The Companies House fee for filing a confirmation statement online is £50 (£62 on paper) and is paid to Companies House. The £149 covers the review of the record, the PSC and SIC checks, the filing, the receipt and next year's reminder. Source: gov.uk, Companies House fees.

I have already missed the deadline. Can you still file it?

Yes, straight away. There is no automatic late filing fee for a confirmation statement (unlike accounts), but an overdue statement can lead to strike-off, so speed matters. If the accounts are overdue too, start at the accounts overdue page and I will quote for both.

How is a confirmation statement different from annual accounts?

The confirmation statement confirms the company's registered details (officers, PSCs, share capital, SIC codes) once a year. The annual accounts report the company's finances and are a separate filing with their own deadline, nine months after the year end for a private company. Both are required every year.
